Your Mike Jackson GM Collingwood Blues are picking up right where they left off in the OJHL. Through 35 games played the Blues sport a healthy record of 29 wins and 6 losses. Blues offence is currently pacing the OJHL with 179 goals scored. While only surrendering a stingy 54 goals against over 35 games good enough for a plus 125 goal differential.
Blues currently sit the 4th most penalized team in the OJHL. On the Special Teams Blues currently are the 2nd best Powerplay and 11th best Penalty Kill league wide. Collingwood currently finds themselves ranked #3 in the CJHL (Nationally) out of 122 teams across 9 Provincial Leagues from Alberta to the Maritimes.
The organization continues to provide post secondary opportunities for players as no less than 6 Division 1 NCAA commitments have been made this year by Blues players. Spencer Young, Cam Eke & Jack Rimmer all are heading to Niagara University. Marcus Lougheed will be heading to Lake Superior State. Landon Wright committed to University of Maine Blackbears & last but not least Team MVP Noah Pak will be heading to Yale starting next season.
The Blues offence is lead by Mark McIntosh, 24 goals & 20 assists for 44 points in 35 games. Dylan Hudon is continuing through the 2023-24 season what he started in last years 2023 Buckland Cup playoffs. He has chipped in his own 19 goals & 28 assists for his own 47 points in 34 games. Graduating senior and assistant captain Spencer young checks in at 3rd in scoring for the Blues. Young has put up a respectable 24 goals and 17 assists for 11 points in 35 games. Spencer has no easy nights, as his line is depended on heavy in the match up games. Young’s combination of 2 way play is vital to Coach Andrew Campoli’s line up.
Offseason addition Jack Rimmer has quietly put up a respectable 11 goals and 27 assists for his own 38 points in 30 games while being used on a line to frustrate opposing teams.
On defense the Blues are lead by top pairing Cam Eke and new offseason addition Calum Chau. Chau comes to the OJHL after a junior career in the CCHL. He currently leads Blues defensemen with 4 goals and 29 assists in 35 games. Offseason returnee Jack Robertson sits second on defensive scoring with 4 goals and 24 assists for 28 points in 35 games. And in goal run away MVP candidate Noah Pak paces the OJHL with 22 wins, a 1.27 GAA, .944 Save percentage and 7 shutouts on the year.
The Blues head into Christmas after tonight’s December 22 game vs Georgetown. They return to action at home January 5th vs Leamington, a night where the Blues encourage all coming to the game to participate in Restocking the shelves campaign taking place during the games on January 5 through January 19 vs Buffalo.
