The Mike Jackson GM Blues added to the backend at the January 10th CJHL Roster Deadline. Sending a player development fee to the Ottawa Jr Senators of the CCHL, General Manager Mike Tarantino acquired Newmarket resident Jacob Winsor. A hard nosed defenceman who was the current captain of the Jr Sens. The same Jr Sens that knocked The Blues from the Centennial Cup in Portage, Manitoba.
“The Blues are excited to add Jacob to our group. Jacob was the Captain of the Ottawa Jr. Senators and a player we know well. He brings leadership, and championship experience having been to the Centennial Cup last year. Jacob is also a presence on the ice and not fun to player to go into a corner with. We like to welcome Jacob and his family to Collingwood!”

He will be a welcomed addition for the stretch run leading up to playoffs and beyond. During his first official home game at the Eddie Bush, Winsor gave the fans all they could want in a hard nosed defenceman. Jacob picked up the belt for Player of the Game from the boys. He made sure to give the fans a pump up on his way out to a chorus of cheers. Watch out for #7 he’s here to stay for 2024!
